There is NO GTX 650 that allows SLI, they cut down on the "Keplar" GPU's unlike the better "FEREMI" based card i have which is the GTX 550 Ti 1GB, but its faster due to its 192-bit bus, the GTX 650 is only 128-bit around 88 Gb/s memory transfer. Just giving you a heads up. So your thinking wont work at all except putting it into the z77 chipset is more logical and better supported for heavier overclocking like my msi z77a-gd80 (Ivy Bridge 1155) motherboard.
Ive been running mine like a champ for 1.5 years at 4.2GHZ with the Stock cooler and a EVGA 650 1GB Video Card in a Gigabyte Z68-UD3 Mobo Rev. 1.0 without a glitch! Moving it to a Z77X-D3H this weekend with Intel 80GB mSata and ADATA SX900 512 SSD and add a big ZALMAN ZMAX Ive had in the Box laying around and kick it to 4.5 and leave it! Love this CPU! Oh and yeah another EVGA 650 with 2GB gddr5! Kiss the Cards together and play World of Tanks!
To get more fps in gaming Strong Gpu is needed. AMD offers that chance. Buying an fx processor with an r7 260X it will give you a rocket speed in gaming. On the other hand if you buy an core i5 you get a gpu . but consider it nothing. Cause its a normal. In the end amd couldnt gain fame like core i series because its fx didnt have a internal gpu. AMDs better.
Come on, AMD offers soo much for LESS money and the i5 has a better single core performance so that's a win? It's simple, take any price of any i-intel processor apply it on AMD price range... Want to buy a 300$ i5? Why not AM3 socket octa-core with some extra stuff and for the rest-buy yourself a month worth of beer so you can play games without going out of the house. Intel began to cost more than it was initially worth with these i3-5-7s. Apple logic.
looks like the amd has more features. In real world gaming, I see no difference between amd and intel until you get to the i7 4770k and above. It's got a lot to do with your GPU.
