Reasons to buy the Intel Core i5 3320M
![]() | Supports trusted computing Yes |
Sometimes manufacturers release newer versions of their processors that simply don’t have too many changes to make a significant, visible difference when it comes to comparing them like this. This is the case with the Intel Core i5 3320M and the Intel Core i5 3230M. Almost completely identical.
A quick overview on the two processors’ specs: both have two cores- each core clocking at 2.6GHz- and those cores are also hyperthreaded. The two processors also share an equal amount of L3 cache and manufacturing process, along with the same maximum operating temperature and TDP rating. What they don’t share is something very small, and that makes the 3230M the slightly better piece of technology: the 3230M has a better performance per watt, and therefore a better performance per dollar. And due to this small difference the Intel Core i5 3230M is better than the Intel Core i5 3320M, as the sheet below will also show.
