i meant FX-6300 there (mistype)
its a tie idiot they both have their advatages one better single core performance and one more ghz (thats right FX6 6300 has a turbo of 4.1 ghz NO OVERCLOCKING just pure processor speed) it has more cores and threads but the i3 has a built in GPU and but it cant overclock very good so its pretty much a tie
Single core nodoubt i3 gonna beat the shit outta fx 6300 . But when u r talking about streaming, video Rendering the six cores are going to beat the shit outta i3. But i3 is a bit more advance in terms of technology. It will be a future proof investment.Am3 + socket will soon be extinct. Most importantly u need to overclock the fx6300 to unleash the beast and go beyond 3.5 GhZ.For that u need a decent cooler ...stock won' t do.So it will be expensive plus overclocking voids warranty.Put that thing into consideration. So all n all i3 has an edge over fx6300. 4170 has a inbuilt GPU 4400 which supports DX 11.1.So it has the potential to run any demanding games in low- medium settings.Whereas fx 6300 doesn't have any inbuilt GPU.So for a budget rig, i3 4170 meets all the requirements. It will allow u to take some time and boost ur budget for a highend GPU.
