The Nvidia Tegra 4 is a powerful phone and tablet processor that was released in the second quarter of 2013. It’s a successor to the Tegra 3 series and has improved performance to prove that. It a quad-core processor, each of the cores clocks at 1.9GHz, but the, much like its predecessor, the Tegra 4 is equipped with a fifth processor. The role of that fifth processor is to handle mundane tasks, like music or video playback or to be the only active core during the device’s standby time, potentially saving a lot of battery power. The Tegra 4 also comes with an integrated GPU that’s clocked at 672MHz and is six times faster than that of the Tegra 3.
