Intel Core i7 4500U

Released July, 2013
  • 1.8 GHz
  • Dual core
7.1 Out of 10

The Intel Core i7 4500U is an, ULV (Ultra Low Voltage) processor, based on the Haswell architecture. It was released in the second quarter of 2013 and includes two cores, each of which is clocked at 1.8GHz but they dramatically increase their speed, with Turbo Boost, to 2.7GHz, if both cores are overclocked. The 4500U can handle up to four threads, due to Hyperthreading, and has a 4MB L3 cache. Also, the 4500U has an integrated HD Graphics 4400 with a base speed of 200MHz, and a max speed of 1100MHz with Turbo Boost. All this makes the 4500U a great choice for ultrabooks, and is able to perfectly handle office and multimedia tasks.

The Haswell Ultrabook Review: Core i7-4500U Tested

by Anand Lal Shimpi |
The combination yields a peak sequential throughput of 665MB/s, which is pretty fast for an Ultrabook.
Under heavy load I wouldn’t expect any substantial increase in battery life, however most notebook usage models boast significant periods of idle time.

Does anybody know whats the best tuning specs for i7 4500u using intel extreme tuning utility?
if you dont know the answer then you probably shouldnt try to tinker with it but its a setting in the bios and its enabled by default. make sure that you have the power setting on performance and that its plugged in.
what is processor turbo speed and how can it be activated?
Download Intel Extreme Utility and put in turboboost power max 15W, some laptops have TDP lowered for more battery life or something. It should work. If it is already 15W, I doubt you can do anything.
my ultrabook K451L B Asus cpu is Core i7 4500u, but turbo clock speed is 2.4Ghz !! what can i do to improve turbo clock speed to 3Ghz ?!!
