Intel’s erratic Core M performance leaves an opening for AMD

Instead of absolutely guaranteeing that a chip will reach a certain speed at a given temperature or power consumption level, simply establish that frequency range as a “maybe” and push the issue off on OEMs or enthusiasts to deal with.
In several cases, the gaps in both CPU and GPU workloads are quite significant — and favor the slower processor.
Though not a performance powerhouse, I think the first taste of Broadwell is delectable and provides vendors with an amazing option that balances the performance of Haswell with the power efficiency of Bay Trail and the Atom lineup.
Newly branded as the Core M line, Broadwell-Y is meant to target the market looking for similar performance of today's ultra-low voltage Haswell processors but with longer battery life and more efficient designs.

More Intel Core M Coming Q4

All new CPUs are slated for a Q4 launch, which would mean that they might become available for end users in products on the shelf sometime in Q1 2015.
These initial CPUs should be properly available to the public in Q4 in devices such as the Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro using the Core M-5Y70.
The fact that Chrome runs poorly — markedly worse than Internet Explorer — could be indicative of GPU driver issues, while the 3.5W TDP target Lenovo apparently locked in would explain the throttling behavior.
It’s possible that these weak performance figures and throttling issues are either caused by Intel drivers or by overly aggressive chip positioning.

I have an Acer travelmate P243-M-53234G50Makk laptop with intel i53230m CPU@2.60GHz processor having 4GB RAM with Intel HD Graphics 4000. Can i upgrade my Graphics card..??
i typically get about 45 fames im using a sandisk 256gb ssd and 8gb crucial ram @1600mhz
this processor is perfect for running game emulators especially when it's paired with a good ssd and the right ram. 1600mhz would be my choice at 8gb you'll have .75's worth gb of decent dedicated memory. just right for a screen at 1366p. ps2 emulator can max out on my samsung laptop @1366p i run vsync too.
