Intel Core i3 3217U

Released June, 2012
  • 1.8 GHz
  • Dual core
7.3 Out of 10

The Intel Core i3 3217U CPU is an ULV processor- meaning it is underclocked so it uses less power at the expense of performance- for laptops, that is based on the Ivy Bridge technology. It’s a dual core processor, with each core clocked at 1.8GHz, but Turbo Boost is not supported, and due to Hyperthreading the two cores can handle up to four parallel threads to better utilise the processor’s resources. The 3217U also comes with an integrated graphics card of the Intel HD Graphics 4000 series, which is in itself a reasonably fast graphics card. Due to its slower performance, this CPU is ideal for smaller laptops or notebooks.
